Interview Again

After the failures of AC and CX FA interview,

I've lost hope for dreaming/becoming FA.

However, interview with EK is quite different.

The company only sent 2 interviewers to interview us,

they represent EK and they are very very friendly and humor (and pretty)!~

So I saw a post from indeed.ca as well monthly monitoring any official airline career website.

I found EK is hiring C.C in Toronto!

But you have to apply online first.

(So I did what the instruction told)

Couple days later, I got email invitation for time, location, what to bring, and what to wear.

At first, I was hesitate : Should I go for interview?

It's Middle East Airline! I've never been there, and I'm Chinese!

Do they only hire Middle East people like Cathay hire Chinese?

Anyways, I decide to take a shot anyways.

On Thursday May 31,

I was invited to Fairmont Royal York Hotel for interview at 9am.

I'm not too familiar with downtown location so I took ttc and arrived there around 8:15am.

I estimate there are at least 300-400 people came to interview.

When everybody's in the room,

Started up with 2 hours of presentation about EK, dxb and life as C.C

(could have done in an hour but there were so many people asking many questions)

Afterward we lined up to give resume, height measurement, and a little chat related your resume.

(since so many people showed up and only 2 HR, it took 3 hours to get to me, but after-all, its worth it)

At Night: 8:35pm. Hehehehe.

I got my Call for second interview at 10:45am same location.

(My hearts fly! But I told myself, don't be too excited, it just the beginning!)

Friday June 1,

Took TTC again.

Good thing I left home early because TTC IS DELAYING AGAIN,

My stop is Union Stations, which is the day n Place they got flood in the whole subway after few hours I arrived. But delaying in the morning is not because of flood, I guess its probably some ttc driver is late or its really what they say: bad weather...

Anyways so the first interview is Group Interview,

divided a group to 8-10?!

Gave us a case scenario, discuss about 10-15 min,

meanwhile the interviewers will look at you and comment on her board.

tip: Be yourself and don't look at them.

Once the process is done, we have to wait outside for 10-15 minutes,

allow the interviewers to gather up their information.

Then they asked us to go back to the room and gave us the results.

Its a folded slip of paper which either say Congratulation or Unfortunately.

XD I got this round! XD

Third round is English Test.

It was around 12pm.

The test was like one you took in high school Literary test EQAO

(I hated that EQAO because first I hate writing essay, second they told me they lost my record/paper and I have to redo it, and they wont let me graduate without it)

Anyways, We will have to read two little stories,

few QnA basically want to know if you understand it or not;

Define Vocabulary see if you understand the word in m/c;

Signs (ex. No Public Washroom) see if u know the meaning behind in m/c;

and Last to write a page of Essay with a topic given at the moment.

I thought about failure in this round because I know how bad my English is when writing essay.....

(this is a blog, not an essay okay!)

Third round done, result given, I thought of this is game over and didn't even dare to open.

(Because I saw the shadow with a folded slip of paper looks like there's a word: Unfortunately.)

One of the interviewee asked me, "Did you make it?"

I was like, "no....."

then she was like, "But you didn't even open!"

So I slowly opened it.

I'm just a silly person.....

Surprisingly I made it again! XD

So then interviewers called us all back to the room, handed out a little booklet,

which we will have to fill out all the personal and immigration information,

and things to need to bring(paperwork) on our FINAL interview! Yeah!~

Final Interview, there's 3 days and I chose 2nd day: Sunday Jun 3.

I arrived 5 minutes before 11am.

Its one on one interview. Pretty past quick and easy.

First is to give all the paperwork(forms, copy of certs n passport., photos)

(They said I was the 1st person who able to gave them all the paper stuff they required)

Asked few questions about just what relate to your current work, no hard question.

Didn't even ask any question that I've googled about general FA interview QnA, Nothing relate!

Process done like 30 minutes.

I'm waiting for my golden call/email now.

Which may notice within 3-6 weeks.

And Now this is what I'm thinking:

WOW! It's EK! It's DXB! It's Middle East!

Places I and my parents haven't even been!

It's my Dream! It's F.A job!

It's a light for me! Hope is coming back!

But I'm still not there yet, so I told myself not to be too excited, think of opposite side like:

Even I fail this time, at least I got experience in interview.
