Do you ever feel like your digital space is out of control? My husband certainly does. His computer desktop is a sea of icons, his downloads folder is overflowing, and his inbox is constantly full. It's a stressful and distracting way to live, and I really wish he will do something about it.
In this post I put up lists for declutter your digital space. It lists everything from managing your email inbox to organizing files and folders. I have used these steps to created an efficient and stress-free digital environment, and I hope someone when he is ready, he can use these steps to do the same for his life.
- Clean your desk - Before cleaning any digital, clean the area of your desk first.
- Clean your desktop - delete any shortcuts that you have not use for at least a year.
- Clean your download folder - delete the ones you no longer need.
- Remove Unused/Useless Computer Apps - If it's sitting unuse for over 2 years, the chances are you don't need them and the software maybe outdate already.
- Run Virus Software to Check Anything
- Customize the Sidebar/Quick Access - Try not to make it over 10
- Delete / Move your Phone Photos -
- Organize the Folders - create a folder and organize the files you still need
- Clear your Cloud-based Storage - How many duplicate files do you have? Delete them
- Organize the Toolbar of your Browser
- Declutter your browser extensions - YES! PLEASE
- Unsubscribe to all Useless Newsletters - if you worry you might miss out the goodies, the chances are you will miss it because you've got too many noise(newsletter) around.
- Organize your Gmail labels
- Clear Your Email Inbox - Delete all the junk mail, advertisement, old subscription mail
- Delete the apps that you don’t need - Your phone, your tablet. any smart device.
- Organize your mobile home screen. - Keep it simple
When your life is organized, it clears your mind and eventually you will able to move your goal faster.
